When in Need of a Child Support Lawyer

Welcome to my blog. I’m Lorna Elliot. My husband and I divorced three years ago. We had been married for ten years and had two children together. Our divorce was fine at first, but then he stopped paying child support. What do you do when the father of your children stops paying child support? Or, you find out that your ex-husband who never paid child support now has a full-time job? It would be nice if, as the parents of the same children, you could come together and make adjustments to your original child support agreement. But this doesn’t usually happen and when it doesn’t, finding a lawyer is the way to proceed. This is what I’ve had to do, and I want to share my experience with you.

Take Action Against Slanderous Rumors And Save Your Reputation

Has someone you know decided to spread false rumors about you and your business practice in an attempt to get you to lose clients and be forced to close down for good? If so, this is a form of slander, and it's certainly not right. The person who is responsible for spreading the false information should be held accountable for their actions. Their decision to say and do things that weren't fair to you may have caused you to lose business and receive threats from people who believe the lies that were spread about you. Here is what you can do to take action against these rumors.

Make Note of Everything That Happened

One of the first things you should do when dealing with this type of situation is to make note of everything that happened. It's important to have this information for your own records, especially if you're planning to pursue legal action. These are some of the questions you should answer while writing down information for your records.

  • How do you know this person?
  • What caused the tension between the two of you?
  • What types of things did this person say about you?
  • Where were the rumors spread?
  • Was this person threatening you?
  • Are other people now threatening you because of what he or she has said?

The different answers you provide to these questions will offer a lot of insight on how things went downhill and what was said by this person when they decided to slander your name and your business.

Get Your Evidence Together

Is there evidence of the slander? Some people are foolish enough to spread lies and rumors around online. Did this person take it to that level? If so, try to gather your evidence by saving screenshots of any information you can find and printing those screenshots out. Save the screenshots to your computer and send yourself a copy of the images to your email so that you'll always have them just in case. Take the printed copies to the police if you're feeling threatened and unsafe. Also call a personal injury attorney to find out if he or she would take on your case. If so, you should give the attorney a copy of everything that's been said, too.

If you're going to pursue legal action, it's helpful to have evidence. A personal injury attorney may take on this case. Although you may not be physically injured, you're likely dealing with emotional injuries and financial damages that could be causing you to feel depressed and angry. It's not fair for someone else to spread lies about you that would ruin your reputation and the reputation of your business. A great way to seek justice would be to hire an attorney and file charges for slander and defamation.
